The Lancia Flaminia was introduced in 1957 as the replacement for Lancia’s flagship model, the Aurelia. The Flaminia was motorized by the same V6 engine as its predecessor, the first one ever put into mass production. Specifications remained nearly identical, as base model retained the 2.5l displacement associated with a single carburetor. Over the course of its life, the Flaminia was also available with a 2.8 liter engine as well as a triple carburetor setup on the Zagato-designed Super Sport launched in 1964.
12,000 Flaminias were sold in its 13-year career. An unusual statistic, the coupé outnumbered the sedans by 3-to-1 despites being more expensive. The three different Flaminia Coupes designed by Touring, Zagato and Pininfarina all had their own features and their own style, offering at the same time better performance and a more personal identity than the Lancia designed Berlina.
The Lancia Flaminia Coupe we are happy to offer for sale is the most popular Flaminia model. More than 5,000 of the Pininfarina-designed and built coupe were produced. The 2.8 liter 3B coupe – reference to its Triple-barrel carburetor – remained relatively rare, with just over 1,000 cars built.
