Ferrari introduced the 512 BB injection model in 1981. Externally the new model was recognisable by the re-designed rear bumper and wheels, and the body-colour wing mirror. Inside, the classic Connolly leather seats featured a central wool textile insert and the car was fitted with air conditioning and central locking as standard. Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection on the 512 BBi replaced the outgoing model's four, triple-choke Weber 40 IF 3C carburettors. Otherwise mechanically identical, the flat-12 featured lower maximum revs (6,600 rpm compared to the 512 BB's 6,800 rpm) and the engine developed 20 bhp less, although top speed remained within a whisker of the 512 BB's 283 km/h.

The history of the car is partially known, and can be summarized by always well maintained throughout all its life.
Considering the car's potential and care it received, we found it sad that the bodywork of this splendid BB 512i was not up to par with its perfect mechanical condition. The car has just received a complete paintjob. We took advantage of its time in the workshop to look any potential accident traces and have not found any. The upholstery was also in decent condition, yet showing some signs of ageing. The leather has therefore been restored by a specialist in order to be in concourse condition.
The mechanical aspect has nothing to envy to the estethical one, as the car was maintained by a well-known specialised Ferrari workshop in Paris, on a regular basis, with the most recent service carried out in April 2010 having all belts replaced. The TRX tires are like new. A total of over 14,000 Euros invoices are available for regular maintenance during the last 3 years, which proves the high involvement of the current owner to maintain the car in a proper manner.
This is an excellent 512 BBi, all original and perfectly maintained, ready to take the road. The car is now available in France with its French registration documents.
