In 1975, Ferrari unveils the successor to the Dino 246. The 308, designed by Pininfarina, is fitted with a V8. The shape immediately seduces the enthusiasts as well as the high performances allowed by the 255 HP 3.0 L V8 engine (top speed is 250 Km/h). The 308 will know many evolutions and upgrades until 1985.
The car we offer is a rare 308 of the first series with a carbureted engine and dry sump. It has been delivered new in France by the French importer Pozzi. It has always been perfectly maintained as shown by the service book, but moreover by the comprehensive file of invoices that will come with the car. All the work done on the car has been recorded since 1988. Since the end of the eighties, the car has been driven very few but regularly to keep it in very good working order. The last major service with cam belts replacements has been done in 2004 at 51.900 Km and the car has only run 1000 km since.
The car is very interesting by many aspects. First of all, it still retains its original paint. The car has never been dismantled nor restored since 1977. Of course the paintwork shows its age, which isn't surprising for a 33 years old car, but it is still very presentable. We have noted some stone chips on the front and two little dents on the front and rear right fenders. Excluding these defaults, the car shows well with a perfect alignment of the body panels. The interior is gorgeous, with the original and very well preserved leather, perfect carpets (recently replaced), and a dashboard in perfect condition.
The car is running like it should, and behaves like a car that has been perfectly maintained and never been roughly driven. It is easy to restore a car, it is just a matter of money. On the other hand, finding a very good original car is much complicated. This 308 is truly an excellent car with only 52.000 original Km, and in a superb condition. Some would have it re sprayed, the enthusiasts would probably keep it as is, as a car in this condition is so rare on the market.
This Ferrari 308 will come with its original books, manuals and tool kit. It is available in France with a French registration. |
