When Derek Bennet created Chevron Cars Ltd in the middle of the sixties, he had probably not expected his cars to win major races only few years later. The first Chevron, the B1 was unveiled in 1965. Many evolutions had been launched the years after including the B5, fitted with a 2 liter V8 BRM engine and competiting in group 6. It would bring the first win in an international race for Chevron, with a 1st OA at Brands Hatch with Brian Redman behind the wheel.
A new model was launched almost every year and in 1971, the B19 was unveiled to compete with the new Lola T210. With a spyder body and very powerful 2 liters engines, the B19 was extremely fast. The following year, the B21 was offered as an evolution of the B19.
The car we are proud to offer is a stunning and genuine 1972 Chevron B21. The car was driven by Bob Wollek and placed regularly in the first ten during major races such as Vallelunga, Dijon or Barcelona. The car has also known a second life in classic racing and has always placed ahead in major historic events.
This superb B21 is fitted with a 2 liters Ford Cosworth BDG engine, tuned by Geoff Richardson and dynoed at 300 HP. The gearbox is a Hewland FT200. The engine has only been raced six hours since a total rebuilt, and the car has always been perfectly maintained and kept in "race ready" condition. The gearbox is controlled and serviced after each race. The car will be fully serviced prior delivery.
This superb Chevron B21 is immediately available in France and will come with its FIA papers. |
